VINCE OWENS

Chairman

​Vince Owens, Founder and Managing General Partner of Guide Medical Ventures, has 25 years of medical device industry experience, including multiple successful exits as start-up founder and CEO.  Most recently, he was co-founder and CEO of Intelect Medical, a deep brain stimulation technology company acquired by Boston Scientific in 2011.  Mr. Owens holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon university and an MBA.  Mr. Owens serves on the boards of several privately held medical device companies.


SCOTT KOKONES

Chief Operating Officer

Scott Kokones, Founder and General Partner of Guide Medical Ventures, was cofounder and Sr. VP of R&D for Intelect Medical through successful exit in 2011.  Prior to joining Intelect, Mr. Kokones held various R&D engineering and leadership roles at Medtronic and Enpath Medical, where he worked on implantable devices for SCS, CRDM, and DBS.  He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Boston University.  Mr. Kokones currently serves on the boards of several privately held companies.


BROCK TICE, PhD

Head of Technology

Brock Tice began his work on CardioSolv's technology in 2006 and has extensive experience in research and development of the company's patient-specific modeling and VT ablation guidance system.  Dr. Tice received his PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2009.  Dr. Tice's doctoral research involved the creation and use of high-resolution computational models of the heart, with both structural and electrophysiological heterogeneities, and produced mechanistic insight into the initiation, sustenance, and termination of re-entrant arrhythmias.

STEVE GIROUARD, PhD

Consultant

Steve Girouard was most recently President & CEO of Securus Medical, Inc (acquired by Boston Scientific). Prior to Securus he was Vice President of Emerging Technologies in the Corporate Office of Science and Technology at Johnson & Johnson. Earlier in his career he was a Partner at Omega Funds and Oakwood Medical Investors, and he was the founding Executive Director of the Cleveland Clinic Atrial Fibrillation Innovation Center, a center created for the development of novel technologies for the treatment of arrhythmias. He started his career at Guidant Corporation where he held various technology management positions. He holds over 35 United States and international patents and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the field of electrophysiology. Dr. Girouard earned his B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
